Bassist BLASKO: OZZY OSBOURNE 'Can Go On As Long As He Wants To'
July 13, 2006Regis Behe of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review recently conducted an interview with OZZY OSBOURNE/ex-ROB ZOMBIE bassist Rob "Blasko" Nicholson. A couple of excerpts from the chat follow:
On playing the second stage at this year's Ozzfest:
"Anyone who has played both stages, like SLIPKNOT, will tell you that the second stage is way more interesting. The vibe is much stronger. Those kids who are usually in the grass setting off bonfires are now squeezed up against the stage. . . . It definitely feels a lot better (on the second stage),minus the sun in your face and the heat and some of the other environmental factors."
On whether the physical demands of touring might force Ozzy to consider, if not retiring, at least a drastic reduction of his schedule:
"He can go on as long as he wants to. Lemmy (Kilmister, of MOTÖRHEAD) is older (60),and he's still playing. ... You look at guys like Paul McCartney (64) and Tom Petty (55),and they're still kicking it. Why can't Ozzy?"
