Bassist GARY MONARDO Quits WEAPON 13

July 17, 2008

Bassist Gary Monardo (ex-HIRAX) has left WEAPON 13 — the band featuring original HIRAX guitarist Bob Savage, drummer Johnny Tabares (a member of HIRAX during the "Raging Violence" era) and vocalist Rob Perkins (ex-WARGOD) — citing "musical differences." He says, "My style of writing is crossover with tempo changes and shorter songs, while the guitar player was writing much longer songs and not as riff-oriented. I completely lost my motivation to play with WEAPON 13 because I felt I would be selling out."

WEAPON 13 last year released an eight-song EP via Marquee Records entitled "Monster Reborn". The EP includes five songs from the rare COLD BLOOD demo which was recorded in 1987 and three new thrashing anthems from the WEAPON 13 demo.
