BATTLEROAR Parts Ways With Singer, Announces Replacement

September 9, 2009

Greek epic metallers BATTLEROAR have parted ways with singer Marco Concoreggi due to "personal reasons" and have replaced him with John Papanikolaou. The band states, "[John's] name may ring a bell to some of the older fans of the Greek heavy metal scene. For all of you... yes, that is the one and he is back in the metal business for good!"

The group adds, "The band is working on new material at the moment and also preparing for live shows, the first of which will be on October 31st at the Halloween Rock Fest in Holland."

BATTLEROAR's current lineup:

John Papanikolaou - Vocals
Kostas Tzortzis - Guitar
Stelios Sovolos - Guitar
Gus Macricostas - Bass
Nick Papadopoulos - Drums

BATTLEROAR's third album, "To Death and Beyond", was released in April 2008 via Cruz Del Sur. The CD was produced by John Boulamakis and features artwork by Greek comic artist John Rubulias ("Conan" Greek edition). A limited digipak edition, featuring a bonus track and an exclusive embroidered patch, was also released.

The group was previously signed to the now-defunct Black Lotus label, which released BATTLEROAR's second album, "Age of Chaos".
