BATTLETORN On Hiatus

July 7, 2007

New York City thrash duo BATTLETORN is currently on hiatus following guitarist/singer Omid's move from New York to Nashville. BATTLETORN played a "farewell to NYC" show on June 16 at the Rock Star bar, which resulted in general mayhem, and original singer Beverly even joined the band for six songs.

As a result of the move, the band's appearances will be sparse in the coming year, but consistent with the group's low-maintenance approach, William and Omid will continue to write new material and tour as opportunities present themselves. In a message on the band's web site, they write, "BATTLETORN isn't over, we'll just be separated by 1000 miles so recording/shows will be less frequent. If a cool tour offer or show offer comes in we'll do it, otherwise we'll meet up when we can to play random dive bars wherever and whenever we can, because after all that's what we do best!"

In other news, BATTLETORN's "Terminal Dawn" LP — which received rave reviews across the continent and scored the band a spread in Metal Maniacs magazine — will be released in a limited CD version including a remixed/remastered version of the band's "Burn Fast" EP.
