BENEDICTION Issues Year-End Update

January 7, 2008

Long-running UK extreme metallers BENEDICTION have issued the following update:

"Well, that went quick! We'd like to thank everyone who came to any of the festivals we played, and supported us in 2007. The biggest surprise for BENEDICTION was the response from you all when we hit the stage. It was not expected to have the crowd going crazy through every song we played at every festival, you all have very good memories for old songs! The fact that we have not released anything since 2001 made the support of us even more unexpected.

"Well, now we are in the middle of sorting our next release. 'Killing Music' will be in your grubby hands in early summer 2008. Things are going well and this year will see a whole new set list instead of just the 'greatest hits' that we have trawled around for the last few years. We hope that like in 2007, a lot of the festivals will want us on their bill and if they do, then we will be there.

"After the summer there will definitely be a full tour. It's been nearly three years since our last one, and it was only a mini one at that! This one will be everywhere we can get to that will let us play. We will start by giving the whole of Europe a serious battering and take the rest on from there.

"Finally, a big thanks to all the bands and promoters at all the shows that made 2007 such a great year for us behind the scenes. Not once did we have to buy a beer for ourselves!

"So there you go, this year is gonna be a busy one. We've been annoying you all for twenty years, and like us or not, we are still having a blast doing this.

"Get extra ambulances this year because it's definitely gonna get messy again!"

Video footage of BENEDICTION performing a new song, entitled "Killing Music", at the Up From The Ground festival — which took place August 24-25, 2007 in Gemünden, Germany — can be viewed below.

Back in June, BENEDICTION cancelled its previously announced U.S. tour "due to immigration problems." More information is available at this location.
