Benefit Gig For Former IRON MAIDEN Drummer CLIVE BURR Scheduled For March
January 19, 2005According to a posting on the IRON MAIDEN fan site MaidenFans.com, a benefit gig to help raise awareness and money for the MS (multiple sclerosis) society, which helps Clive Burr, former MAIDEN drummer, in his illness, will be staged in March.
This year's show, which is scheduled to take place on March 19 at Ruskin Arms in London, will see a wide variety of rock artists gathering to raise awareness and funds for the Clive Burr MS Trust.
The IRON MAIDEN Fan Club will be running a booth at the show and a special limited edition gig t-shirt will be issued for only 10 GBP.
Tickets start at 12.50 GBP.
Burr is suffering from multiple sclerosis — a disease of unknown cause. The disorder is causing him intermittent numbness and can affect his balance. At present there is no known cure for MS, although he is helping test new drugs in the hope that his body response may contribute to a cure.
Clive joined the band at the very end of December 1979 and played on the first three albums — "Iron Maiden", "Killers" and "Number of the Beast" — and toured extensively with the band over this groundbreaking period before leaving in early 1983.
