Birmingham Councillors Say OZZY OSBOURNE Deserves City's Top Honor

February 9, 2012

According to the Birmingham Mail, leading city council members in Birmingham, England want to bestow on legendary BLACK SABBATH singer Ozzy Osbourne the city's highest honor, the Freedom Of The City.

Freedom Of The City is granted to persons of distinction and those who have rendered eminent services to the city.

Council head of children's social services Matt Bennett, who was in a punk band during his teens, said, "I studied in Liverpool and they do know how to make the most of their music. Yes, they have THE BEATLES, but they do like to go on and on about it. So I say give Ozzy Osborne the Freedom Of The City. He is the most famous Brummie on the planet. A few years ago he played for the Queen, and if he is good enough for the Queen, he is good enough for Birmingham."
