BLACK SABBATH Collaborates With Footwear Manufacturer LAKAI

December 8, 2020

As the search for the perfect gift kicks into high gear, Los Angeles, California-based footwear manufacturer LAKAI and BLACK SABBATH dropped a surprise capsule collection inspired by professional skateboarder Riley Hawk and the infamous heavy metal band's albums "Master Of Reality", "Never Say Die!" and "We Sold Our Soul For Rock 'N' Roll". Paying homage to the iconic band through footwear, matching apparel pieces, accessories and a skateboard deck, the LAKAI x Black Sabbath collection is now available at retail stores and skateshops and on lakai.com/black-sabbath on December 11.

Considered by many as the best metal album of all-time, "Master Of Reality" influenced Riley Hawk's third LAKAI Pro model shoe and fans around the globe since its 1971 release. As Riley's favorite band of all time, the LAKAI x Black Sabbath collection includes design cues of black, gradients, purple and imagery of the band. The LAKAI x Black Sabbath capsule also arrives in four distinct silhouettes: Telford, Owen VLK, Riley 3 and Newport HI.

As a notable wearable collector's item, the live show imagery on the LAKAI Owen captures the energy of the concert fueled by BLACK SABBATH's signature metal golden era.

From his early Shep Dawgs days to his various video parts for LAKAI and Baker, Hawk continues to hold his own as skateboarding royalty. As an "all-terrain" skater with a naturally relaxed style, Riley is notorious for shredding any spot or obstacle in his path.

The LAKAI x Black Sabbath collection ranges from $12 to $90. The collection is now available at local retailers and skate shops while supplies last.

LAKAI enjoys a rich history in the skateboarding lifestyle. Founded by professional skateboarders Mike Carroll and Rick Howard in 1999, LAKAI is built on the dedication and pride they have always invested into their skateboarding and the Girl and Chocolate brands. With a focus on creating an atmosphere that is supportive and motivating while developing a product line that team riders can be proud of, LAKAI has maintained a unique level of integrity and respect within the skateboarding community since its inception.
