BLACK SABBATH, DEEP PURPLE Songs Featured On 'Lords Of Dogtown' Soundtrack

May 18, 2005

ABC ePrep is reporting that songs from BLACK SABBATH, DEEP PURPLE, JIMI HENDRIX, IGGY POP and TED NUGENT are included on the soundtrack of the new movie "Lords of Dogtown", starring Heath Ledger and Johnny Knoxville. The movie documents the rise of the rock-and-skateboarding counterculture in Venice Beach, California in the late 1970s.

In addition to the classics, the soundtrack, which comes out May 24, also features an interesting rarity — a cover version of PINK FLOYD's "Wish You Were Here", sung by RADIOHEAD's Thom Yorke with backup by the indie-rock band SPARKLEHORSE. The track, recorded in 1998, was previously only available on a limited-edition CD that is now impossible to get.

According to ICE magazine, here's the tracklisting for "Lords of Dogtown" CD:

01. SOCIAL DISTORTION - "Death or Glory"
02. NAZARETH - "Hair of the Dog"
03. FOGHAT - "I Just Want to Make Love to You"
