BLACK SABBATH Guitarist: 'I'm Looking Forward To Getting Back On The Road'

May 23, 2005

BLACK SABBATH guitarist Tony Iommi has issued the following personal note via his official web site:

"First and foremost, I want to thank my good friend Geezer Butler for his kind words about my new album. Geezer's been working very hard himself this year on his new album 'Ohmwork', which was released this week. It's great to see him out there doing his own stuff, and I think this one is his best album yet.

"Glenn [Hughes, ex-DEEP PURPLE, BLACK SABBATH] and I have spent the past week doing promotion for the 'Fused' album in the UK and Europe. We also spent a few days in New York recently talking to American press and radio.

"During the next few weeks I'll be getting ready for the SABBATH tour. I'm really looking forward to getting back on the road.

"See you over the summer!"

As previously reported, Iommi and Butler will be the featured guests on the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline" airing Wednesday, July 20. The live show begins at 8:30 p.m. PT / 11:30 p.m. ET, and fans are encouraged to call in with questions during the program at (800) 344-ROCK (7625). Iommi's third solo album, "Fused" is scheduled for release on July 12 via Sanctuary Records.

Joining the BLACK SABBATH guitarist on "Fused" is Hughes and former JOHN MELLENCAMP drummer Kenny Aronoff, who has also played sessions with the likes of THE ROLLING STONES, BOB DYLAN, ROD STEWART, ALICE COOPER, BOB SEGER, LYNYRD SKYNYRD and countless others.

BLACK SABBATH have been confirmed as the headliners of this year's Ozzfest beginning on July 15 in Mansfield, Massachusetts.
