BLACK SABBATH's Biography From Roadcrew's Point Of View Available For Pre-Order
January 23, 2004Amazon is currently taking pre-orders for the upcoming BLACK SABBATH biography "How Black Was Our Sabbath", which promises to tell "the story of BLACK SABBATH as told by the people who were closest to the band during [the early] years — [their] full-time roadcrew."
Scheduled to be published on March 5 through Panmacmillan/Sidgwick & Jackson books, "How Black Was Our Sabbath" (view cover here) was co-written by Graham Wright, who was assistant to BLACK SABBATH drummer Bill Ward in the 1970s. Since working for BLACK SABBATH, he has completed many major tours, including UFO, THE SCORPIONS, TINA TURNER and THE ROLLING STONES. He is also an artist and has had his work exhibited in the U.K. and the USA. He is married with two children and lives in Teesside.
Co-author David Tangye was road manager for Cumbrian band NECROMANDUS before becoming personal assistant and close friend of Ozzy Osbourne during the SABBATH years. When Ozzy started his solo career David helped contact musicians, and arrange auditions and was present when Ozzy recorded "Blizzard of Ozz" and "Diary of a Madman" albums. He went on to complete Ozzy's first solo U.K. and American tours. Following his departure from the Osbourne camp, David decided to hang up his string of backstage passes and leave the music business. He lives near Cockermouth in Cumbria.
