BLACK STONE CHERRY: New Video Interview With JOHN FRED YOUNG
July 6, 2012Aftonbladet journalist Mattias Kling conducted an interview with drummer John Fred Young of Kentucky rockers BLACK STONE CHERRY at this year's edition of the Getaway Rock festival, which is being held July 5-6 in Gävle, Sweden. You can now watch the chat below.
BLACK STONE CHERRY in February released a music video for their single "In My Blood", taken from the band's third album, "Between The Devil And The Deep Blue Sea". The documentary-style video follows Private First Class (PFC) Randy Hirneisen, a 20-year-old U.S. Army soldier stationed in Europe, as he is deployed in Afghanistan, redeployed back to Germany, and finally sent home to Augusta, Georgia, where his wife Cindy Torres introduces him to their two-month-old son Randy Hirneisen Jr. for the first time.
Although BLACK STONE CHERRY has a number of family members and friends who are or have been in the military, singer Chris Robertson told The Pulse Of Radio that the song "In My Blood" itself is open to interpretation. "When you write a song, you write it for what you feel, but you hope people interpret it to how they feel," he said.
