BLACK TUSK Signs To RELAPSE RECORDS

November 24, 2009

Relapse Records has announce the signing of Savannah, Georgia's BLACK TUSK.

Formed in 2005, BLACK TUSK released its full-length debut, "Passage Through Purgatory", last year via Hyperrealist. The band more recently issued a series of split seven-inch singles, including those with ASG, THE HOLY MOUNTAIN and FIGHT AMP.

BLACK TUSK is currently rounding out a run of dates in the eastern U.S. with BLACK COBRA. Upon returning home, BLACK TUSK will begin writing material for its Relapse debut for a spring 2010 release.

BLACK TUSK commented on the signing: "It's awesome to be on a label with so many bands that have helped shaped our tastes and with a staff that treats like family. We're stoked to get this next record out and we have a bunch of tours in the works so keep an eye out."

BLACK TUSK is featured in the December 2009 issue of Spin magazine (on newsstands now) along with labelmates BARONESS as part of a story on Savannah's burgeoning metal scene.

BLACK TUSK tour dates:

Nov. 24 - Newport, KY - Southgate House (w/ BLACK COBRA)
Nov. 25 - Chicago, IL - Cobra Lounge (w/ DARK CASTLE)
Nov. 27 - Huntington, WV - V Club (w/ BLACK COBRA)
Nov. 28 - Chattanooga, TN - JJ Bohemia
