BLAZE BAYLEY To Headline CLIVEAID Event In London

October 4, 2007

Former IRON MAIDEN/WOLFSBANE singer Blaze Bayley will headline the Cliveaid event on October 27 at Bar Monsta in Camden, London, England. Also appearing on the bill are CONSPIRATORS (featuring Robin Guy) and BEHOLDER.

Cliveaid is the organization which was set up in 2004 as a fund-raising event for original IRON MAIDEN drummer Clive Burr.

Burr is suffering from multiple sclerosis — a disease of unknown cause. The disorder is causing him intermittent numbness and can affect his balance. At present there is no known cure for MS, although he is helping test new drugs in the hope that his body response may contribute to a cure.

Clive joined IRON MAIDEN at the very end of December 1979 and played on the first three albums — "Iron Maiden", "Killers" and "Number of the Beast" — and toured extensively with the band over this groundbreaking period before leaving in early 1983.

A 10-minute video interview with Blaze Bayley conducted by "Angel of Metal" at the Rock Of Ages Fest 2007 (which took place September 8-9 at The Palace in Tamworth, England) can be viewed below.

Metal Mind Productions recently released Blaze Bayley's DVD, entitled "Alive in Poland" (view cover artwork at this location). The disc was recorded at the 21st edition of the Metalmania Festival, which took place on March 24 in Katowice, Poland. Blaze Bayley and his band put on a 90-minute show consisting of the best tracks from BLAZE's discography as well as select cuts from IRON MAIDEN ("Man on the Edge", "Futureal"). The DVD also includes many great bonus features, such as an interview with Blaze Bayley, an interview with all members of Blaze's band (featuring footage filmed during their visit to Poland) and more. A limited-edition "Alive in Poland" release includes a two-CD set with songs recorded at the concert.

Bayley's most recent release, "Blood & Belief" (which came out under the BLAZE banner),was issued in Europe in April 2004. The follow-up to 2002's "Tenth Dimension" was recorded at Backstage Studios in Derbyshire, England with producer Andy Sneap (NEVERMORE, EXODUS, ARCH ENEMY).
