BLEEDING THROUGH To Discuss Van Crash On 'Inside Edition'

December 19, 2003

BLEEDING THROUGH will be appearing on the nationally syndicated news program "Inside Edition" with Deborah Norville. Even though the band has toured with AFI and are in Spin magazine's "Next Big Things" and A.P.'s "100 Bands" issue, it's their near fatal van crash that has propelled them to national attention this week. The dramatic televised footage can be seen at this location and has been broadcast everywhere from CNN Headline News, "Good Morning America", NBC News and even the Weather Channel. While the footage shows the crash and state troopers' comments, none of the news programs have heard the band's account or gotten an on-air interview. BLEEDING THROUGH will sit down for the first time since the crash and discuss what happened and the repercussions on "Inside Edition" (episode running Friday, Dec. 19).

Over the weekend the band, who were on national tour with SOILWORK and CHIMARA to promote their new album "This Is Love...This Is Murderous" (Trustkill Records) were driving from Utah to a show in Colorado. On the highway, they hit a patch of black ice (they were going well under the speed limit) and spun out of control. Their equipment trailer rolled over and exploded hurtling their instruments and gear across the highway. A local television crew was actually taking footage of a truck that crashed moments before. The band's van hit that truck head on, and it's a good thing they did or they would have rolled right into oncoming traffic.

Miraculously aside from minor scrapes, jarred bones and muscles, there were no serious injuries for anyone. Currently the band members including Brandan Schieppati - vocals, Marta - keyboards, Scott Danough - guitar, Derek Youngsma - drums, Brian Leppke - guitar, Ryan Wombacher - bass and tour manager Eric Johnson are recovering at home in Orange County, CA. On a more positive note BLEEDING THROUGH's video for "On Wings of Lead" premieres in January, during which time they will record a track for a forthcoming GUNS N' ROSES tribute album and gear up for a European tour in February with legendary New York hardcore band SICK OF IT ALL.
