BLINDED BY FAITH: In Writing Mode

August 19, 2008

Canada's BLINDED BY FAITH is currently in writing mode for the follow-up to last year's "Weapons of Mass Distraction" (Galy Racords). Fred Laroche of Capitale du Metal was invited in the rehearsal room for an exclusive preview of the band's current work.

Says Fred: "Since the release of 'Weapons of Mass Distraction', BLINDED BY FAITH did a fair amount of live appearances and got to finally experience the true hardships and the real rewards of being in a professional band. BLINDED BY FAITH did their homework by taking care of the things that were possibly getting in the way of their growth. The current lineup, which includes newcomer Darrick (Devil D. Darrick) on guitar and Jeff Fortin on bass, is a very solid one and the new blood seems to have taken the band to a new level both onstage and offstage. More mature individuals within a band can only create more mature music and a strong desire to create something with more personality will lead to an album that could very well be the band's make-or-break effort. From what I have heard so far, the band is experimenting with a lot of ideas to push the music one step further. 2009 should be a very interesting year for Canadian metal and BLINDED BY FAITH is among the names to look out for.''

Last Saturday, BLINDED BY FAITH performed at the tenth and final edition of the Woodspunx outdoor festival in Baie Saint-Paul in Quebec, Canada. The festival has been running for 10 years but the organizers have decided to finally retire from this non-profit organization. For the last call, a very diverse selection of bands performed on the outdoor stage of the festival. BLINDED BY FAITH played with Mon Onc' Serge, who collaborated with fellow Canadians ANONYMUS on the "Academie du Massacre" album. Other acts on the bill were METALORD, DISSIDENCE and GRIMSKUNK.
