BLOODTHORN: 'Genocide' Cover Artwork, Track Listing Revealed

Morningstar Records has set a February 13 Norwegian/U.K. release date for the new album from the Norwegian death metal band BLOODTHORN, entitled "Genocide". The rest of Europe will receive the album on February 20.

A video teaser containing sound clips of many of the songs that appear on "Genocide" has been posted online at this location. The teaser can also be viewed in an online player onhe official BLOODTHORN MySpace page here.

"Genocide" was recorded at Godt Selskap Studio (CHTON, GRIFFIN, KEEP OF KALESSIN) with Knut Fug Prytz (NECROPHAGIA) producing. The CD, which has a running time of nearly 50 minutes, will mark the group's first release with guitarist Ihizahg (ex-PERISHED, WURDULAK, live guitarist for MAYHEM). "He's been working with us for several years now and wrote a good deal of the material on the new album, which will be the heaviest and most extreme BLOODTHORN album to this day," the band write in a statement.

BLOODTHORN have been confirmed for the Wacken Open Air Festival, set to take place August 3-5, 2006 in Wacken, Germany. A row release party for "Genocide" will take place on February 17 at Blæst in Trondheim, Norway. Support at the show will come from GOAT THE HEAD. The release party will be streamed live online in its entirety. More streaming details will be announced soon.
