July 1, 2008

BODY OF SCARS, the new Phoenix, Arizona-based band featuring JAG PANZER drummer Rikard Stjernquist and former 40 GRIT vocalist/guitarist James Santiago, will enter the studio this week to begin recording its second album, tentatively due in early 2009. According to the group, "Rikard will start tracking drums Wednesday night, July 2. The goal is to have everything tracked by October, then mix and master all of November. Artwork and CD pressing early December and have the CD release date set as January 6, 2009, with a tour to follow."

BODY OF SCARS' next live appearance is scheduled for August 30 at Joe's Grotto in Phoenix with AUTUMN'S END and BACK FROM ASHES. "We will be busting out the majority of the new CD at that show so you better be there!" the band writes on its MySpace blog.

Formed in August 2006, BODY OF SCARS' current lineup is completed by lead guitarist Randy Davis and bassist Brian Shoemake.
