BROWN JENKINS To Release 'Epic' Final Album

October 27, 2009

Austin, Texas' black/doom metal act BROWN JENKINS will release its final work and third CD for Moribund Records on November 24. Moving much farther beyond the death-drone, apocalyptic atmospheres of "Angel Eyes", the new record, entitled "Death Obsession", is a monstrous, epic journey into grave worldviews and funeral resonance on the edge of a collapsing civilization. With seven songs and over 60 minutes of music, this final album blasts open new avenues of expression for black metal artists while solidifying the band's place as one of the most innovative groups from the American scene.

Says Moribund Records: "'Death Obsession' is mainman UA's magnum opus and final descent into the abyss. Elevating his drone-tone, funeral-tinged black metal with abstract intricacies, 'Death Obsession' gestates hazy distortion and psychedelic textures into a mesmerizing atmosphere far more desolate than any other conventional 'black metal' band. BROWN JENKINS alchemically alters ghostly death-dirges like no other... breathe your last breath and quench your obsession!"
