BRUCE DICKINSON Turns Down Chance To Appear On U.K. Version Of 'The Voice'

July 11, 2011

According to The Sun, IRON MAIDEN frontman Bruce Dickinson has turned down a spot on the judging panel of the U.K. version of the hit American singing competition "The Voice".

Dickinson was offered the job by the BBC, who want the show to rival "The X Factor" when it launches next year. But Bruce said: "That show sounds so crap and demeaning to everyone involved, I took great delight in turning the BBC down. 'The X Factor' is appalling enough, it's no better than 'Opportunity Knocks'."

Polish tabloid Fakt reported last week that guitarist/vocalist Adam "Nergal" Darski of Polish extreme metal veterans BEHEMOTH has signed on to be a judge on Poland's version of "The Voice", appropriately named "The Voice Of Poland".

The American version of "The Voice" was a big hit for NBC and helped breathe new life into the careers of coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green.
