BUCKCHERRY Frontman Interviewed At ROCK AM RING Festival; Video Available
June 12, 2009The German edition of the Metal Hammer magazine conducted an interview with vocalist Josh Todd of California rockers BUCKCHERRY at this year's Rock am Ring festival, which was held earlier this month at in Nürburgring, Germany. Watch the chat at this location.
BUCKCHERRY has landed the support slot for all dates on the upcoming North American tour by KISS. The trek, which will begin in September, wil be the first in which fans will play a role in its routing, thanks to live music social networking site Eventful. The site will allow fans to vote for the bands to come and perform in their city, with the cities getting the most votes winning a date on the schedule. Voting is open through June 30, and representatives for KISS claim that residents of more than 8,000 cities and towns have already logged on.
For BUCKCHERRY, the jaunt is just another stretch on the seemingly endless touring cycle the band began last summer before the release of its "Black Butterfly" album. Keith Nelson told The Pulse of Radio that's how the group likes to work. "No breaks, ever," he said. "We came home from the road, wrote the record, recorded it, I finished mixing it on a Thursday, on Sunday I got on an airplane and went on Crüe Fest, been on the road ever since. There's no end in sight. We are booked all the way through the end of the year. We're on the go."
Fans who vote for their city will have the opportunity to purchase pre-sale tickets if their town is selected for the tour.
15 of the top 20 cities in the running so far are Canadian.
Nelson told Billboard about the tour, "(KISS) have a lot of choices of bands to take out, and we're truly one of the last rock 'n' roll bands out there. And I think they recognize that."
Fans can also call 213-784-4536 and leave BUCKCHERRY a message. If their city is selected, either Nelson or Josh Todd will call one winner from that city and tell them they've won the first pair of tickets to that show. The contest, named "Talk To Me" after the band's latest single, ends at midnight on June 30.
