BUCKCHERRY Guitarist Says New Album Is 'Very Analog, Very Organic'

July 6, 2010

Gannett Media's Anne Erickson caught up with BUCKCHERRY lead guitarist and songwriter Keith Nelson to chat about the band's fifth studio album, "All Night Long", out August 3.

Nelson says the new release is free of studio magic — it's BUCKCHERRY, plain and simple. "We went to great lengths to make sure this was a very non-digital record. It's very analog; very organic," he says. "Whatever you hear, it's a real guitar, a real guitar amp, and there's no digital processing on the record."

Co-produced by Nelson and Marti Frederiksen (AEROSMITH, FUEL),the CD's overall sound is described as "raw rock."

"We're a live rock and roll band, and I think the album speaks to that," Nelson says. "We like to make records that we create faithfully with just the guys from the band, and that's what we did."

"All Night Long", the new single from BUCKCHERRY, is receiving significant airplay on active rock radio. Nelson says the song is a snapshot of a BUCKCHERRY show: "It's what happens when a band like us comes to your town: We're going all night long. It's just a good party song."
