BUCKCHERRY Is 'Screwing Over Old Friends,' Claims Texas Radio Station

BUCKCHERRY has cancelled its previously announced appearance at the 26th FMX Birthday Bash, set to take place on February 3 at The Lonestar Pavillion in Lubbock, Texas. Although no official reason has been given for the band's cancellation, a posting on the web site of the Lubbock, Texas radio station KFMX-FM — which is organizing the concert — blames the move on the group's decision to book an additional show in California on the same date as the FMX concert. "We understand sickness, family deaths and even double bookings, but this is screwing your old friends over trying to make new friends," the posting adds. "It really is uncalled for." Replacing BUCKCHERRY on the FMX Birthday Bash bill is NONPOINT. Other bands scheduled to appear are THREE DAYS GRACE, SALIVA and CROSSFADE, among others.

BUCKCHERRY's founding members, singer Joshua Todd and guitarist Keith Nelson, reformed the group in 2005 after disbanding in 2001. The band's comeback album, "15", has sold 580,000 copies in the United States since its April 2006 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The raunchy "Crazy Bitch" video was pulled from circulation last fall when an underage girl sued the band, claiming she was coerced into taking her top off in the clip. A new video has since been filmed.
