BUCKCHERRY Prepares To Hit The Studio
May 8, 2008BUCKCHERRY guitarist Keith Nelson has issued the following update:
"Today is the day. We started writing and rehearsing for [the new BUCKCHEERY album] recording sessions a few months back, and now the time has come to put this baby on wax! We have so many songs now, the biggest challenge is what NOT to include on the record. A quality problem. True to form, we work quick; after all, we did '15' in fifteen days. We're shooting for the same vibe with this one, but maybe adding an extra week. Will we call it '21'? Ummm... No. But, part of what made that record so much fun is we just captured the raw essence of the band without over-thinking the recording process, and that's exactly how we're making this one.
"Stay tuned for more updates as I'll be taking the time to let you know what's going on here and how everything is progressing a little more frequently than before. We can't wait for everyone to hear this new music. Keep the faith and stay tuned!"
BUCKCHERRY has not yet announced a release date or title for its next album. The band released "15" just over two years ago, beginning a comeback that saw the band play 300 shows, sell over one million copies of the record, and earn five hit singles after being all but defunct five years ago.
Once the new record is done, BUCKCHERRY will jump onto "Cre Fest," the summer-long package tour headlined by MTLEY CRE. Keith Nelson told The Pulse of Radio why he's looking forward to the trek. "MTLEY CRE is really one of those bands that I think is so ahead of the curve," he said. "For us to be out on the road with them with this package I think is really cool because you're getting a lot of different rock bands. You're getting a band like us, which I don't think there's anything out there quite like us, and you're getting a band like PAPA ROACH, which I think is probably the best band of the early new millenium bands. Throw in TRAPT, who's great, who's had a lot of success, and the SIXX: A.M. guys, and it's just, it is a rock 'n' roll festival."
"Cre Fest" will begin on July 1 in West Palm Beach, Florida and hit over 40 cities, closing out on August 31 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
In addition to the CRE and BUCKCHERRY, the lineup will feature PAPA ROACH, TRAPT and CRE bassist Nikki Sixx's side project, SIXX: A.M.
