BUCKCHERRY's 'Crazy Bitch' Deemed Fit For Canadian Radio
October 19, 2011The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council has ruled that Ottawa, Ontario radio station CKQB-FM (106.9 The Bear) did not violate any broadcasting codes administered by the CBSC when it aired an edited version of the song "Crazy Bitch" by BUCHCHERRY on March 14, 2011, just after 5 a.m.
The commission delivered its ruling in response to a complaint submitted by an Ottawa resident who claimed that the song "repeatedly demonstrates the appalling acceptability of condoning to the point of glorifying oppressive language; so mainstream that an eight-year-old can turn on the radio and sing along to 'you're a crazy bitch but you fuck so good, I'm on top of it."

"Crazy Bitch" was described by Billboard as "a riff-driven, F-bomb-laden rock anthem that celebrates a woman's sexuality in the tradition of MTLEY CRE's 'Girls, Girls, Girls'." The song was the No. 8-selling ringtone of 2007 and scored a Grammy nomination for best hard rock performance. Strippers loved it.
"It became a song every dancer wanted to dance to," BUCKCHERRY frontman Josh Todd told Billboard, acknowledging he witnessed some of their appreciation firsthand.
The Canadian Broadcast Standards Council is an independent, non-governmental organization created by the Canadian Association of Broadcasters (CAB) to administer standards established by its members, Canada's private broadcasters.
