BURDEN OF GRIEF Announce New Drummer, Secure U.S. Record Deal
February 24, 2005German death/thrash metal act BURDEN OF GRIEF have announced the addition of drummer Sebastian "Rob" Robrecht to the group's ranks. Robrecht joins BURDEN OF GRIEF as the replacement for Carsten Schmerer, who left the band "due to a lack of time," according to a posting on the group's web site.
In other news, BURDEN OF GRIEF have secured a U.S. licensing deal with Magick Records (a division of the L.A.-based Cleopatra Label Group). Magick will release the group's third full-length album, "Fields of Salvation", with a bonus track — a live version of "Reborn".
"Fields of Salvation", available in Europe through Remedy Records/Soulfood, was mixed at Jailhouse Studios in Denmark with producer Tommy Hansen (HELLOWEEN, PRETTY MAIDS, HATESPHERE). The follow-up to 2001's "On Darker Trails" contains nine tracks. Audio clips are available for download at this location.
