BYFIST Announces New Guitarist

November 12, 2010

BYFIST has announced the addition of lead guitarist James Martinez to the group's ranks. The Texas-based metal act states, "James has been a friend of the band for many years and is a excellent guitar player."

BYFIST will host a benefit event for the family of their late guitarist Davey Lee (also of REVEREND) on November 20 at The Steer (located on 735 S.E. Military Dr.) in San Antonio, Texas.

Davey Lee died on October 1 of a heart attack. He had played the guitar since the age of 15.

REVEREND last year announced the addition of vocalist Robb Steele (TRANSLUCENT EXISTENCE, BYFIST, BITTUR HARVEST) to the group's ranks.

Former REVEREND/METAL CHURCH singer David Wayne died on May 10, 2005 due to complications from injuries he sustained in a head-on automobile accident several months earlier. He was 47 years old.
