August 8, 2009

CAGE's Sean Peck will contribute lead vocals to a song from the San Diego up-and-coming progressive death metal band OBSEQUY which will be included on the soundtrack to "The Toxic Avenger 5" movie (Troma Studios). The track will also include a guest solo by a local guitar virtuoso, Rob Bachman, as well as a possible guest monologue by the father of Toxie himself, Lloyd Kaufman. The recordings will take place the end of the month during the recording sessions for OBSEQUY's debut EP, "Thoughtcrime".

"Thoughtcrime" tracklisting:

01. An Obsequy For Thought
02. Destruction Complete
03. What Is But Cannot Be (BELIEVER cover)
04. Distant
05. Pascal's Triangle

"Thoughtcrime" is due out in the fall of 2009. An initial run of less than 100 copies will be issued through CDbaby and independent retailers, as well as iTunes.

Although demo versions of several tracks from "Thoughtcrime" are currently available on the OBSEQUY MySpace page, guitarist Alex Fidel states, "Those are sub-par compared to what is to come. This will be our vision made to its fullest potential, now that we have a professional studio at our disposal."

OBSEQUY will do scattered mini-tours in support of "Thoughtcrime", mostly in California.
