Canadian Teens Suspected Of Vandalism At Cemetery On 6/6/06
July 11, 2006Hamilton Spectator is reporting that six teenagers in Hamilton, Ontario were charged with mischief and breaking and entering with intent in connection with an incident on June 6, 2006 — also known as 666, Devil's Day — when over 230 tombstones at a local cemetery were desecrated (photo).
Several of the teens are believed to be fans of punk, thrash and heavy metal, such as KORN, TOOL, DISTURBED, SLIPKNOT and MUDVAYNE. Some of the music draws on Satanic imagery. And 666 is a biblical reference to the mark of the Beast.
Two 16-year-olds and three 17-year olds were charged with mischief over $5,000 and break and enter with intent. They will be back in court Aug. 14, to give parents a chance to line up legal aid lawyers.
