Canadian Thrashers SLAUGHTER Launch Official Web Site

November 30, 2004

Influential 1980s Canadian thrash metal band SLAUGHTER have launched their brand new official web site at Slaughter.ca.

According to BNRMetal.com, "SLAUGHTER was a cult Canadian pre-death metal band, who attracted a fanatical following through their short career. Formed in 1984, the band went the usual demo tape route (at a time where underground tape trading was rampant, this only served to heighten band awareness),eventually recording their seminal 'Strappado' album in 1986. Recording commenced on a followup album to be entitled 'Paranormal', but the band broke up in 1990, preventing its release [the album was eventually issued in 2001 via Nuclear Blast]. Guitarist Dave Hewson recruited a new lineup and continued playing as STRAPPADO (the name change both to indicate a new direction and to avoid conflicts with [the cock-rock band fronted by Mark Slaughter]),but they never progressed beyond the demo stage. Later, Hewson and Bobby Sadzak (one of the new STRAPPADO members) formed INNER THOUGHT, which survived for a few years before folding. The band last recorded a song for a CELTIC FROST tribute in 1994 and disbanded for good shortly thereafter."
