CANDIRIA To Release Collection Of Rare Tracks, Remix Compilation
November 13, 2007Brooklyn-based experimental metal band CANDIRIA has announced its next two releases:
* A rare tracks/b-sides compilation of never-before-heard material written and recorded by members of CANDIRIA during various recording sessions prior to 2001
* A remix/reinvention compilation of material from the band's first three releases. Selections from these three records will be cut up, de-constructed, re-amped, recreated and reinvented by some of the group's closest friends and fellow musicians and, of course, by the CANDIRIA bandmembers themselves.
According to a posting on the band's MySpace page, CANDIRIA's long-awaited new album, "Kiss the Lie", is "on hold indefinitely." The initial recording sessions for the CD were reportedly overseen by John LaMacchia and Carley Coma at Jupiter 4 and Purple Light studios.
Back in April 2005, CANDIRIA won a $29 million verdict for injuries they suffered when a truck hit their tour van.
The members of CANDIRIA were hurt as they traveled to a gig in Cleveland on Sept. 9, 2002, when a tractor trailer owned by Paige Transportation Inc. hit them near Buffalo.
The crash sent their van rolling over five to seven times, and all the members received injuries.
The aftermath of the crash is documented on the cover of the band's last album, "What Doesn't Kill You…", with photos of the band's demolished van.
"What Doesn't Kill You..." was released in July 2004 through Type A Records.
