CANDLEBOX To Perform At Checker O'Reilly Auto Parts 500

October 21, 2008

Seattle alternative rock band CANDLEBOX will perform on Phoenix International Raceway's Midway stage on November 9 at 11:30 a.m., just hours before the green flag drops on the Checker O'Reilly Auto Parts 500 Presented by Pennzoil. In addition to the concert, CANDLEBOX lead singer Kevin Martin will sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" prior to the start of NASCAR's semi-final race in the Chase for the Sprint Cup and will be broadcast live on ABC.

In a connection fitting to NASCAR racing, CANDLEBOX is actively involved in driver safety through the Buckle Up America Challenge (BUAC). Coordinated through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the BLU MOON Foundation, the Buckle Up America Challenge encourages NASCAR fans, communities, companies, organizations, and individuals to "Buckle Up Every Trip, Every Time." Currently, an alarming one of five Americans still fail to wear a seatbelt for protection while driving or riding in a motor vehicle.

Tickets to see CANDLEBOX perform at PIR and to experience all of the racing action throughout the November NASCAR event weekend at PIR can be purchased online at www.phoenixraceway.com or over the phone at 1-866-408-RACE (7223).
