CANDLEMASS Pulls Out Of Germany's KEEP IT TRUE XIII Festival
April 22, 2010Swedish doom metal legends CANDLEMASS have cancelled their appearance at this year's Keep It True XIII festival, set to take place April 23-24, 2010 at Tauberfrankenhalle in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany. According to the festival organizers, "[The members of CANDLEMASS] fear they will not make it in time home for their daily jobs on Monday [April 26]. Their flights are still on, but they do not want to use them. They also declined to drive by van, because one of them said he has back problems. Rob Lowe [CANDLEMASS singer] is already in Lauda and we try to get him on stage for a song or so with another band."
The organizers add, "OMEN will [now] headline the Friday [April 23]. Also ROXXCALIBUR will play a set on Friday and also EMERALD (NL),'cause THOR seems not to come too. On Saturday we will have WARRANT (GER) playing instead of HADES and MORTICIAN (AUT) will open the Saturday.
"This is the running order [see below] we try to have now. But please remember, this is only a work-in-progress running order. There might be changes, 'cause we still try to bring over Alan Tecchio [WATCHTOWER singer] who is still stuck in Newark; the rest of WATCHTOWER is already in Germany..."

CANDLEMASS also cancelled this past Saturday's (April 17) appearance at the Roadburn festival — which was held last weekend at the 013 and Midi Theatre in Tilburg, Holland — after a cloud of ash from an Icelandic volcano continued to blanket Europe Saturday, shutting down airspace in 23 countries and causing travel misery for millions of people.
CANDLEMASS was scheduled to play a very special two-hour set in celebration of its 25th anniversary, including a performance of its classic debut album, "Epicus Doomicus Metallicus", in its entirety with original singer Johan Längquist on vocals.
