CARDAMON Parts Ways With Drummer, Announces Replacement
August 26, 2009CARDAMON, the Dutch rock/metal band featuring Koen Romeijn from DETONATION, has parted ways with drummer Thomas Kalksma (also ex-DETONATION) and has replaced him with Michael Van Der Kolk.
Commented the group: "Thomas recently decided to part ways with CARDAMON, wanting to focus more on his professional career. With more and more (international) gigs, the choice between career and CARDAMON became increasingly difficult for him. However, we were lucky enough to find Michael, who seemed to be born ready, so we could pick up where we left. Meaning, he's as ready for the road as much as we are, and we're already focusing on new material! Starting this September, CARDAMON will hit the road, so make sure you come out and make him feel welcome in a way only CARDAMON fans can."
CARDAMON had its debut album, "The Primrose Path", reissued through Femme Metal Records on June 1. The CD was recorded, mixed and mastered at Excess studios in Rotterdam and contains "11 melancholic and rock solid songs, with beautiful melodies, heavy riffs and powerful drumming, and the chanting voice of singer Floortje," according to the group's official bio. The new version of the LP features the bonus track "The Bliss Of Loneliness", which was previously only available on the band's nearly-sold-out promo CD.
