CARDBOARD VAMPYRES: New Tour Dates Announced
April 8, 2005CARDBOARD VAMPYRES, the new "covers" band featuring former ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell, ex-THE CULT guitarist Billy Duffy and former MÖTLEY CRÜE frontman John Corabi, have lined up the following dates in July:
Jul. 08 - The Quest - Minneapolis, MN
Jul. 09 - Summerfest Music Market Stage - Milwaukee, WI
Jul. 10 - House Of Blues - Chicago, IL
CARDBOARD VAMPYRES play songs from both ALICE IN CHAINS and THE CULT, as well as covers of tunes by artists like BLACK SABBATH, LED ZEPPELIN, METALLICA, and others. As of yet, there are no plans for the group to write or record any original material.
As previously reported, Cantrell is currently recording new music at Doug Fieger's studio in Los Angeles. He is joined in the studio by Chris Wyse on bass and Stephen Perkins on drums (both ex-JANE'S ADDICTION). Cantrell's new tunes are said to be sounding "amazing," with one track reportedly featuring Doug Fieger on slide guitar.
Cantrell will be presenting and performing at the MusiCares/MAP Fund benefit concert honoring Dave Navarro and Goldenvoice on May 20 at the Henry Fonda Theatre in Hollywood, California. Playing along with Cantrell will be Navarro, Perkins and Wyse.
Also on the Cantrell front, look for Jerry to make an appearance playing poker at Patrick Warburton's house on E!'s "Hollywood Hold 'Em" on April 14. More information is available at EOnline.com.
