CARPATHIAN FOREST Will NOT Play Poland's METALMANIA 2006 Festival Either
December 30, 2005Yet another band has contacted BLABBERMOUTH.NET to inform us that they will **NOT** perform at Poland's Metalmania 2006 festival (scheduled to take place March 4, 2006 at Spodek in Katowice),despite the festival organizers' announcement to the contrary. Guitarist Tchort (a.k.a. Terje Vik Schei) of the Norwegian black metallers CARPATHIAN FOREST told us that "The band never got any requests to play this festival, and [I am] scheduled to tour in the U.S. with GREEN CARNATION, starting 22nd of February and ending in early April. The touring activities with CARPATHIAN FOREST will start in the middle of April and last the rest of 2006."
As previously reported, TESTAMENT's booking agent, Tammy Taylor of Maximus Entertainment, told BLABBERMOUTH.NET yesterday that, "[We], the agency that represents TESTAMENT, [have] an international booking policy. We ask for a 10% binder before negotiating with any buyer. This is for the purpose of the buyer being in good standing and good intentions for our acts. This binder is not a confirmation that the act will be performing, but only that we will ask the band if they are available for the date in question. This is the exact policy that we went through with the promoter in Poland. You can verify this policy with the promoter in Spain for the Atarfe Vega Rock Festival [scheduled for March 10-11, 2006 at Nave Medina Elvira in Atarfe, Granada], which is confirmed. The promoter in Poland took it upon himself to advertise before we declined this show. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused any fans. Please take note the band TESTAMENT is not at fault for any of this."
