CATTLE DECAPITATION's Debut Album Banned In Germany!

July 3, 2002

San Diego extreme metallers CATTLE DECAPITATION have reportedly had their debut album, To Serve Man, banned in Germany before the album has even been released. German Metal Blade Records distributor SPV is said to have refused to put the album in stores due to the brutal artwork, forcing the label to make the album available in the country only through the usual mail order companies.

Much in the same way early CANNIBAL CORPSE releases have been banned in parts of Europe, "CATTLE DECAPITATION'S excessive imagery has proven to be too intense for the standard distribution practices," according to an official Metal Blade press release. "While the artwork for To Serve Man does not portray splatter for the sake of effect, the Wes Benscoter (i.e. BROKEN HOPE, MORTICIAN) art throughout the packaging is undeniably intense and more unnerving then anything else."

Due to be released on July 30th, To Serve Man contains the following track listing:

01. Testicular Manslaughter
02. I Eat Your Skin
03. Writhe In Putressence
04. Land Of The Severed Meatus
05. The Regurgitation of Corpses
06. Everyone Deserves To Die
07. Colonic Villus Biopsy Performed on the Gastro-intestinally Incapable
08. Pedeadstrians
09. Long-pig Chef and the Hairless Goat
10. Hypogastric Combustion by C-4 Plastique
11. Deadmeal
12. Chunk Blower

In other news, CATTLE DECAPITATION have decided to chill out on playing so many shows in Southern California and surrounding areas until they've landed a national tour. "We've simply been playing too many shows and not giving ourselves enough time to work on new material," the band said in a statement. "There are numerous full US tours in the works right now but nothing solid. So if you don't want to wait until mid fall/early winter, you should be sure to check out these shows that we are still going to play. They are going to be bad-ass!"

CATTLE DECAPITATION have lined up the following dates during July/August:

Jul. 14 - Long Beach, CA @ Live Bait
Aug. 09 - Los Angeles, CA @ The Knitting Factory (w/THE LOCUST)
