CELTIC FROST: 'H.R. GIGER Must Be One Of The Most Extraordinary Artists Currently Alive'

September 11, 2006

CELTIC FROST frontman Tom Gabriel Fischer has posted the following message on his official blog:

"Shortly before we flew to Norway [for the Hole in the Sky festival], Les Barany let us know that H.R. Giger would be ready to welcome us again at his home in Zurich after our return to commemorate our renewed collaboration after all these years.

"Even a lifelong veneration of Giger's art and genius is insufficient to serve as a preparation for the reverence experienced every time when in the presence of Giger's work or Giger himself. Martin [Ain, bass] brought huge bags full of prototypes of the new Giger/CELTIC FROST joint merchandise for Giger to examine and keep. And Giger seemed truly happy with it. He was an incredibly engaging and considerate host, and to celebrate our shared history and the entering into the new venture, he brought out a red wine so heavy that both Martin and I felt dazed even after the first glass.

"Giger must be one of the most extraordinary artists currently alive, and, beyond it, he is a truly exceptional human being.

"Les told us day or so later that when Giger called him to report about our visit and the look of the merchandise, he had CELTIC FROST's new album playing in the background."

CELTIC FROST's new video, "A Dying God Coming Into Human Flesh", is now available to download from www.celticfrost.com in both high- and lower-quality formats. Go the "Multimedia" section on the website to download either version. This video is also available to view at the following sites:

As a special bonus, CELTIC FROST are also including both the "Circle of the Tyrants" and "Wine In My Hand (Third from the Sun)" promotional videos, along with the very rare playback appearance (with live audience) for "Into the Crypts of Rays", which was taped in April, 1985 at Swiss-German television "DRS" in Zurich, Switzerland. These videos are also included in both high- and lower-quality formats, and will also be available for viewing on CELTIC FROST's official YouTube page.
