CHILDREN OF BODOM Bassist: It Is A 'Privilege To Be Able To See SLAYER Every Night'

July 5, 2006

CHILDREN OF BODOM bassist Henkka T. Blacksmith has checked in from the band's Unholy Alliance Tour with SLAYER, LAMB OF GOD, MASTODON and THINE EYES BLEED. His posting on COB's official web site reads as follows:

"So we've been through Midwest, Texas, Georgia and now some cities in Canada! Well, it s been great still. Very hot and humid everywhere, but i like it. Air condition is fixed in the bus.

"World Cup takes my time during the daytime. Well soon it's over and I get to sleep later like the others. Alexi [Laiho, guitar], for example, wakes up usually at 3:30 p.m. and is wondering why there's no food left in the catering. Duuuude, lunch time is over and you have to wake up earlier to get that food, 'cos dinner starts at 5:00 p.m. But luckily he manages with little food so everything is cool.

"What else. SLAYER guys are cool! MASTODON dudes rule! LAMB OF GOD, oh, you know, hilarious people, and THINE EYES boys are a lot of fun to hang with. Also all of the crew is easy to get along with, and they treat everybody so well. So, the opening bands are treated well.

"As I said earlier, it is fun to play these big arenas. You can actually can feel the intensity that the crowd creates. Of course, club show is a club show, but this is much much more fun than I thought it would be. Well, for me it was enough to be able to open for SLAYER, so all expectations exceeded!!!!!!

"I have to apologize for that there were no our shirts available here in Quebec. There was some misunderstandings between the delivery company and the venues. But i hope we get more merch for the rest of the Canadian shows!

"Well... 'Dead Skin Mask' is on now. What a privilege to be able to see SLAYER every night! Goddamn!!!"

As previously reported, CHILDREN OF BODOM have set "Chaos Ridden Years – Stockholm Knockout Live" as the title of their upcoming DVD, due on October 10, 2006. The disc is estimated to contain over three hours of non-stop COB action, including a live concert, videos, and a rare documentary on the band from past to present.

Directed by Patric Ullaeus of the Revolver Film Company, the DVD will mainly focus on the February 5, 2006 live concert at Arenan in Stockholm, Sweden, featuring over 90 minutes of live excitement.
