CHILDREN OF BODOM's LAIHO To Support STONER KINGS Frontman At Finland's 'Winter War'

December 13, 2007

On Saturday, December 15 in the heart of Helsinki, Finland at the Töölö Sports Hall, Fight Club Finland presents the hottest, most action-packed combat spectacular of the year entitled Winter War 2007.

On this special night of powerfully dynamic pro wrestling action "The Canadian Rebel" StarBuck, who is also the vocalist for heavy rock outfit STONER KINGS, challenges new Finnish wrestling champion Valentine in the main event of the evening.

StarBuck will have his good friend Alexi Laiho from CHILDREN OF BODOM watching his back in this important bout, to make sure that Valentine's devious valet Barbie stays clear of the action in the ring.

It was on October 27 in Mäntsälä, Finland that Barbie handed her man a pair of brass knuckles with which he broke StarBuck's nose, sending "The Canadian Rebel" to the hospital in short order.

"I am proud to have Alexi in my corner at Winter War," states the Canadian Finn, StarBuck. "I had the privilege of having Alexi play an awesome solo on 'Mantric Madness' off our last STONER KINGS album 'Fuck the World' in 2006. Over the years we've trained at the gym, jammed together and been there for each other as friends should. Now, I have the good fortune of having someone I consider a great, quality guy and buddy watch my back on the biggest wrestling show ever in Finland! If that Barbie chick hands her man any form of assistance, I am sure Alexi can take care of business!"

Also appearing at Winter War, LORDI bassist Ox will present the Lordi Young Blood Rising trophy to the winner of a one-night round-robbin tournament, where the overall winner will receive a title shot at the reigning Finnish champion at the start of 2008! Ox fills in for Mr. Lordi himself, who had to cancel both a huge gig with his band on December 14 and Lordi's personal appearance at Winter War, due to the post-production schedule of the new LORDI movie "Dark Floors" in London on the same weekend.
