Chile's PENTAGRAM To Reunite For CUMBRE DEL METAL CHILENO Festival

Long-defunct extreme metal pioneers PENTAGRAM from Chile will reunite for an appearance at the Cumbre del Metal Chileno festival, set to take place June 14 at Teatro Caupolicán in Santiago. This will be mark PENTAGRAM's first performance since May 27, 2001, when the band played a one-off show to celebrate the CD release of the group's two cult demos from the 1980s on Picoroco Records. Also scheduled to appear are SLAVERY, EXECRATOR, SADISM, WARPATH, KINGDOM OF HATE, NUCLEAR and DORSO.

Highly acclaimed as true originators of the international underground extreme metal scene, PENTAGRAM produced two legendary demo tapes in the late Eighties which server as the source of inspiration for many black/death metal cult acts to follow (including AVULSED, NAPALM DEATH, AT THE GATES, DISMEMBER, ENTOMBED and CARCASS).

Band leader Anton "Behemoth" Reisenegger later formed the acclaimed death-thrash outfit CRIMINAL.

Germany's Cyclone Empire last year released "Under The Spell Of The Pentagram", a CD+DVD set featuring all known recordings from PENTAGRAM on CD along with live footage on DVD.
