April 15, 2009

CHIMAIRA's new album, "The Infection", will be available for streaming in its entirety on April 16 and April 17 on the band's MySpace page.

A teaser for the bonus DVD that will be featured in the limited-edition CD/DVD version of "The Infection" can be viewed below.

Audio samples of all 10 tracks that are set to appear on "The Infection" are available for streaming on Amazon.co.uk.

"The Infection" will be released in North America on April 21 via Ferret Music and in Europe on April 24 through Nuclear Blast. The CD was mastered at Sterling Sound in New York City with Ted Jensen and Chris "Zeuss" Harris (HATEBREED, SHADOWS FALL, AGNOSTIC FRONT, TERROR, THE ACACIA STRAIN). "Sonically, this album sounds amazing," vocalist Mark Hunter wrote on the group's web site. "Ben [Schigel, producer], Zeuss [who mixed the CD] and Ted did an amazing job making our vision come to reality. The album has exceeded everyone in this band's expectations."

"The Infection" track listing:

01. The Venom Inside
02. Frozen In Time
03. Coming Alive
04. Secrets Of The Dead
05. The Disappearing Sun
06. Impending Doom
07. On Broken Glass
08. Destroy And Dominate
09. Try To Survive
10. The Heart Of It All

CHIMAIRA filmed a video for the track "Destroy And Dominate" in February in the band's hometown of Cleveland. The group's longtime videographer Todd Bell directed the clip, which is expected to debut online later this month.

Commented guitarist Rob Arnold: "Todd is responsible for both of our documentaries, 'The Dehumanizing Process' and 'The Resurrection', as well as our brand new, in-the-works DVD, due out early next year. He's also shot a handful of our music videos, photos, and more. So expect nothing less than superior quality and creativity on 'Destroy And Dominate'! I wish I could tell you all more about what to expect content wise, but I myself am still waiting to see the first rough cut! But I certainly have no doubts that it will crush! Keep your eyes peeled!"
