Vocalist Chitral "Chity" Somapala — highly regarded for his work with AVALON, FIREWIND, FARO, MOONLIGHT AGONY and RED CIRCUIT — has posted some of the audition recordings that landed him the job as the new singer for DAVID SHANKLE GROUP (DSG),the band led by former MANOWAR guitarist David Shankle. Check them out at this location.

Somapala joined DAVID SHANKLE GROUP in April as the replacement for Carlos Zema (OUTWORLD, COLDERA),who left the band due to "creative differences."

DAVID SHANKLE GROUP said in a press release: "Chity's vocal range and tone are AMAZING, and he is an incredible songwriter. With Chity's talent, DSG will finaly be able to play all of our material from both albums, 'Ashes' and 'Hellborn', LIVE!!! This makes Chity the PERFECT addition to our band."

DAVID SHANKLE GROUP's latest album, "Hellborn", came out on July 6, 2007 through Magic Circle Music.

According to a press release, "Hellborn" is "a very different animal to [its predecessor], 'Ashes to Ashes' [2003], and offers something for all fans of true metal."
