CHRIS CAFFERY Goes Hunting With MANOWAR Singer; Recap Available
February 25, 2008SAVATAGE/TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA guitarist Chris Caffery recently travelled to Texas with MANOWAR vocalist Eric Adams to do some hunting and fishing with Chester Moore, who released a hunting DVD, "Wild Life and Wild Times", with Adams in 2006. A recap of the trip in Caffery's words has been posted on Chris' official forum at this location (free registration required). An excerpt follows:
"Now if you decide to read here I don't want to hear any complaining about how you disagree with hunting. Every single time I hunt or fish I get more information on just how much the money from hunting and fishing licenses, outerwear, etc. helps animal conservation. Thousands and thousands of animals are saved and their environments made healthier for them from money that comes directly from hunters and fisherman. I don't see much being donated by the anti-hunting groups. I just see a lot of complaining. Complaining is easy to do. But without the help of hunting and fishing license money our wildlife would have a lot more problems than anyone realizes."
Chester Moore is a multiple award-winning outdoor writer and author of several hunting and fishing books, including "Flounder Fever" and "Texas Waterfowl". He previously stated, "There is purity about hunting and fishing that can be traced back to man's quest for survival. In the Moore household we eat wild game or wild caught fish at least five nights a week and it has made us healthier due to the nutritional benefits of truly natural food and it has allowed us to celebrate success in the field so it feeds the spirit as well."
Chris Caffery's latest solo album, "Pins and Needles", was released in Europe in March 2007 via Metal Heaven Records. The CD arrived in North America on June 5 via Locomotive.
The follow-up to 2004's "Faces" and 2005's collection of bonus tracks and new compositions, "W.A.R.P.E.D.", "Pins and Needles" was originally scheduled to be released through Greece's Black Lotus Records, but after the company closed its doors in 2006, Caffery was forced to seek a new label home.
