CHRIS CAFFERY To Take Part In Signing Session, Solo Acoustic Set In Edwardsville

June 18, 2009

Guitarist Chris Caffery (SAVATAGE, TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA) will take part in a signing session and short acoustic performance today (Thursday, June 18) at Gallery of Sound at the Gateway Shopping Center, Edwardsville, Pennsylvania at 5:00 p.m. Caffery's set will consist of some songs from his fourth solo album, "House of Insanity", plus some stuff from his previous album and a few TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA favorites.

"It was originally supposed to be just an in-store meet-and-greet type thing," Caffery told The Times Leader. "But then they asked if I would be interested in doing a live set of solo acoustic stuff, so of course I said I would."

Regarding "House of Insanity", Caffery — a 41-year-old musician originally from Suffern, New York, told The Times Leader, "It's a little different than my previous albums in that I produced it myself and sing and play all the instruments except drums," he said. "And it's the first one I have released on my own label.

"Not that I was unhappy with my last (solo) album," he continued. "But there was a little bit of a tug of war between myself and the producer over some things. So this time, I did just about everything myself."

Caffery said work on the long-anticipated new TRANS-SIBERIAN ORCHESTRA album, "Night Castle", (which began in 2004) continues.

"(TSO producer and head composer) Paul O'Neill has a vision and a certain standard he is working toward," Caffery said. "Right now, he is working with some of the singers, and I will be going into the studio at some point this summer. I'm just not sure when.

"But I'm sure it will be out sometime this year."

Caffery is also working on signing bands to his start-up record company, Face The Music Records, and developing a hot sauce, called "Face The Heat". He is also writing new material for his next album.

"Since the next TSO album will be non-holiday, some people have been asking me to do a solo holiday album," he said. "So I'm working on some instrumentals and some stuff for that.
