CHRIS CORNELL: 'Live From Seattle' Performance To Be Broadcast Tonight
May 8, 2007Control Room and MSN "Music in Concert" are bringing legendary frontman-turned-solo artist Chris Cornell to rock fans around the world, live in concert tonight (Tuesday, May 8). Airing live at 10:00 p.m. PST (1:00 a.m. Wednesday EST) and for the next six months, fans of Cornell can go to this location and experience this Grammy-winning artist during his live show.
Cornell will perform songs from the celebrated bands he fronted — including AUDIOSLAVE, SOUNDGARDEN and TEMPLE OF THE DOG — as well as tracks from his upcoming album, "Carry On", which hits stores June 5. The new CD's fourteen tracks offer the bluesy and soulful "Safe and Sound", psychedelic "Scar On The Sky", country-flavored "Finally Forever" and a slow-grind cover of MICHAEL JACKSON's "Billie Jean" that gives the familiar song a completely new feeling.
Cornell has reportedly selected the track "She'll Never Be Your Man" as the next U.S. single from "Carry On". A 42-second audio sample of the track, which is scheduled to go for radio adds on May 14-15, can be heard at this location.
According to Amazon.co.uk, the U.K. version of "Carry On" will feature two extra tracks not featured on the U.S. version — "Today" and "Roads We Choose". Meanwhile, CDJapan.co.jp is listing the Japanese version of "Carry On" as containing a live acoustic cover of LED ZEPPELIN's "Thank You", recorded on September 7, 2006 at O-Baren in Stockholm, Sweden.
Cornell recently filmed a video for the song "Arms Around Your Love" over a two-day period in New York City. Helming the shoot was Caswell Coggins, who previously worked with THE CRANBERRIES singer Dolores O'Riordan on her "Ordinary Day" clip.
The lead-off U.K. single from Cornell's new solo album, "Carry On", "Arms Around Your Love" is scheduled for release on May 21, with the album following on May 28 (in the U.K.).
