CHRIS CORNELL Releases Audio Message Regarding European Tour Postponement
April 16, 2008Former AUDIOSLAVE/SOUNDGARDEN vocalist Chris Cornell has released an audio message regarding the postponement of his European tour.
The trek, originally slated to begin in Holland on May 31, has been pushed back to the fall. The acclaimed singer is holed up in the studio with super-producer Timbaland, continuing work on his third solo CD, tentatively slated for a September 2008 release on Mosley Music/Interscope Records.
Having already laid down 14 tracks for the forthcoming disc, Timbaland has called his collaboration with Cornell "his best work ever."
Chris stated about the unlikely pairing, "This is different from anything I've ever done. I've come from an indie rock world, where, if you have a producer, it's somebody who's not a musician, not a songwriter. He's just someone who twists knobs and can kinda tell you if they think a song is too long or too short or needs to be more aggressive. Tim's a songwriter, so I was working with him in a collaboration, sort of as if we were in a band."
