CHRIS CORNELL To Support AEROSMITH At London's HYDE PARK CALLING

March 23, 2007

Former AUDIOSLAVE/SOUNDGARDEN frontman Chris Cornell has been confirmed as one of the support acts for AEROSMITH at this year's Hyde Park Calling festival in London.

British band THE ANSWER will be opening the event, which takes place on June 24.

Cornell will be honored at the third annual MusiCares MAP Fund benefit concert, scheduled for Friday, May 11 at the Music Box Theater in Hollywood, California. According to a press release, Cornell will receive the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award "for his dedication and support of the MusiCares MAP Fund and his devotion to helping other addicts with the recovery process." All proceeds from the event will benefit the MusiCares MAP Fund, which provides members of the music community access to addiction recovery treatment regardless of their financial situation.

The benefit will also honor independent music promoter Jeff McClusky with the MusiCares From the Heart Award for his work with the organization.

The dinner will feature performances by Cornell, ARMY OF ANYONE, DEPECHE MODE singer David Gahan and others.

METALLICA frontman James Hetfield was last year's recipient of the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award.

Cornell went through rehab for alcohol and painkillers in early 2002.

He will begin a solo tour on April 6 in Las Vegas to promote the June 5 release of his second solo album, "Carry On".
