CHRIS CORNELL Visits KROQ In L.A.; Audio Interview, Performance Available

April 3, 2007

Former SOUNDGARDEN/AUDIOSLAVE singer Chris Cornell was in the KROQ studios in Los Angeles recently to talk with Kevin and Bean and to perform acoustically. Listen to the interview and performances of the tracks "Like a Stone" (AUDIOSLAVE),"No Such Thing", and the SOUNDGARDEN hit "Black Hole Sun" at KROQ.com.

Cornell's new single, "No Such Thing", has been made available for streaming via his MySpace page. The track comes off the singer's upcoming Suretone/Interscope album, "Carry On", due on June 5.

Produced by Grammy Award-winning Producer of the Year Steve Lillywhite, "Carry On" is the 13th career album for Cornell. The track listing for the effort is as follows (not in final order)

01. No Such Thing
02. Safe and Sound
03. Scar On The Sky
04. Finally Forever
05. Disappearing Act
06. Billie Jean (MICHAEL JACKSON cover)
07. Ghost
08. Arms Around Your Love
09. She'll Never Be Your Man
10. Killing Birds
11. Silence the Voices
12. Poison Eye
13. Your Soul Today
14. You Know My Name

Cornell began working on the disc last fall after the release of AUDIOSLAVE's third album, "Revelations". News of the solo project fueled rumors of a split with AUDIOSLAVE, with Cornell officially leaving the band in February due to "irresolvable personality conflicts as well as musical differences." The 14-track effort will feature "You Know My Name", Cornell's theme for the latest James Bond film, "Casino Royale", as well as a cover of MICHAEL JACKSON's "Billie Jean".

Cornell has also contributed a song to the soundtrack of the movie "Bug" and told Launch a little about the movie. "It's based on a play, but it's sort of, it's also an extremely edgy film," he said. "It's an indie film, it's kind of the opposite of the Bond movie in that sense. But an extremely entertaining and powerful movie. I'm not gonna bother trying to describe it 'cause I couldn't help but give it away. But it's definitely a movie to go see, it's extremely intense."

"Bug", which stars Ashley Judd and was helmed by "Exorcist" director William Friedkin, is due in theatres on May 25. The soundtrack also includes songs from VELVET REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland and SYSTEM OF A DOWN vocalist Serj Tankian.

Cornell will be the featured guest on the nationally syndicated radio show "Rockline" airing Monday, June 4. The live show begins at 8:30 p.m. PT / 11:30 p.m. ET, and fans are encouraged to call in with questions during the program at (800) 344-ROCK (7625). Chris Cornell will embark on a spring solo tour to preview material from "Carry On". The outing will begin April 6 in Las Vegas and run through May 2 in Los Angeles.
