CIRCLE II CIRCLE Joined By Former CELLADOR Guitarist
September 18, 2008CIRCLE II CIRCLE — the band led by ex-SAVATAGE singer Zak Stevens — has announced the addition of guitarist Bill Hudson (POWER QUEST, CELLADOR, THE SUPREMACY) to the group's ranks.
Commented the band: "We're sad about parting ways with Evan [Christopher], but the addition of Bill into the band is gonna keep us going strong. We start our North American tour with JON OLIVA'S PAIN and MANTICORA September 20."
Bill Hudson stated: "I'm really stoked about being a part of CIRCLE II CIRCLE! I've been a fan of Zak since high school. We met last year when I played ProgPower USA [festival in Atlanta] and became great friends. Then, a few months later, I met Mitch (Paul Michael Stewart) at the Nightmare Metal Festival in Florida and we, too, became friends right there. It's almost like this whole thing was meant to happen!"
Regarding the upcoming tour with MANTICORA and JON OLIVA'S PAIN, Hudson said, "It'll be great to see Zak Stevens and Jon Oliva on the same stage again, and I'm truly honored that I'll be a part of it!"
CIRCLE II CIRCLE's fourth album, "Delusions of Grandeur", was released in June via Locomotive Records.
Stevens joined SAVATAGE in the early '90s for "Edge of Thorns" and contributed mightily to the Florida band's "Dead Winter Dead", "Handful of Rain" and "The Wake of Megellan" albums. Shortly before the "Poets & Madmen" LP in 2001, Stevens left amicably to form CIRCLE II CIRCLE and spend more time with his family. CIIC's 2003 release, "Watching In Silence", featured SAVATAGE mastermind Jon Oliva co-writing most of the material.
